Please Note: Participants under the age of 18 are required to have Parent or Guardian read and accept waiver on their behalf.

In consideration of an application for entry into the Relay For Life event being accepted, participants must understand, intending to be legally bound for themselves and their heirs, executors and administrators. Participants waive and release the organisers and sponsors (individually and collectively), including the directors, officers, staff, volunteers and representatives thereof, and indemnify them against any liability (including liability for negligence) for the death or any physical or mental illness, incapacity or property damage or loss they may suffer which may directly or indirectly result from their  participation in the event. Participants further verify that they are in proper physical and mental condition to participate in the event and acknowledge that they are aware of the risks involved and voluntarily agree to assume those risks. They verify that the information supplied is true; and that they will not use a false name or impersonate another, nor use profanity, obscenities or offensive or defamatory remarks and agree that Cancer Council accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies in the information provided. Participants   understand that some of the details they provide here will be displayed on this site for the public and other members to view. Participants must also agree that Cancer Council accepts no responsibility for damage caused by automated emails resulting from my on line entry.

Privacy:

We collect two types of information through this website:
1. Personal or individually identifiable information that you provide to us; and
2. Standard web server/visitor traffic information such as ISP addresses, browser versions, referring websites, duration of visits, total visitor traffic. This information helps us to understand how people use our website and assists us in managing our site to better serve our audience.
Individually identifiable information and how we use it:
Cancer Council collects individually identifiable information from Life Smart visitors in order to provide personalised Life Smart results and coaching. First Name and Surname, Email Address, Suburb/Town, State, Postcode, Telephone are collected, as well as individuals' lifestyle information.
The information is used to provide contact with Relay For Life visitors by way of email reminders, telephone call-backs and sometimes SMS lifestyle prompts. The information provided on this website will not be given to any other parties except for the purpose of providing automated Life Smart SMS prompts.
De-identified lifestyle information may be used by Cancer Council for research purposes.
We respect your privacy. As an independent company registered under the Corporations Act, Cancer Council must comply with the National Privacy Act 1988, specifically in relation to the amendments made by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
Our commitment to the security of confidentiality is resolute and we aim to apply best practice to ensure privacy is protected and respected. Privacy management is a continuous and evolving process and we regularly update our practices to accommodate changes in technology, the organisation's function and legislation.
