Send Candle Tribute

The candlelight ceremony can be one of the most inspirational and emotional ceremony’s at any Cancer Council Relay For Life event.

Whether you participate at Relay in person or in spirit, the ceremony offers everyone in the community the opportunity to pay tribute to those people whose lives have been directly affected by cancer.

The candlelight ceremony usually takes place at dusk, when the inside of the track is illuminated with hundreds of candle tributes, each inscribed prominently with personal messages of love and hope. The ceremony is often accompanied by a minute’s silence, silent laps or inspirational music whilst the candles are being lit.

The candles continue to burn into the night, lighting the way for Relay participants as they continue to walk throughout the night all.

Keep the fires of hope burning by dedicating a candle to someone you wish to remember or whose courage and life you wish to honour and celebrate.
